To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Supervises classroom, students, and volunteers.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Arts degree.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid South Carolina Elementary Teaching Certificate
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, and the public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in various formats.
Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of current research and theory; lesson planning; establishing effective relationships; communication skills; awareness of district policies.
Frequently required to stand, talk, hear; sometimes walk and sit. May need to lift up to 25 lbs, and occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and focus adjustment.
Moderate to loud noise levels; indoor and occasional outdoor duties. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.
