Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking an Elementary STEM Teacher to deliver PLTW-based instruction in a K-5 setting. You will plan engaging STEM activities, assess progress, and collaborate with staff to support student outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and SC teaching certification, with 190-day terms, and a focus on developing curiosity and confidence in science, technology, engineering, and math. You will maintain records and participate in district meetings and stay current with STEM education

Qualifications

• PLTW curriculum familiarity and ability to implement STEM instruction.
• Experience teaching STEM in elementary grades preferred.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging STEM activities.
• Ability to monitor and assess student progress and performance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in required training for implementation of the PLTW curriculum and related STEM professional development.

Job Summary

• Support education outcomes for students in the areas of science, math, engineering, and science through the implementation of the elementary STEM program.
• Understand and be able to implement STEM learning experiences.
• Demonstrate a commitment to STEM education.

Essential Duties

Participate in required training for implementation of the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum, as well as professional development related to STEM. Provide instruction in grades K-5 directly related to STEM, using Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum. Support student learning through exploration and discovery. Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active and engaging learning experiences. Develop lesson plans. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Prepare classroom to effectively and efficiently facilitate STEM activities. Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. Identify and utilize different instructional resources and methods to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Provide for the care and protection of school property. Use relevant technology to support instruction. Observe and evaluate student performance and development. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments as appropriate. Provide appropriate feedback on student work. Monitor and encourage individual student progress. Provide guidance to students which will promote educational development. Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development. Update records accurately and completely as required by laws and district policies. Prepare required reports on students and activities. Manage student behavior and maintain discipline by establishing classroom rules and procedures and enforcing classroom, school, and district rules and procedures. Participate in department, school, and district meetings and professional development activities as appropriate. Stay current with most recent developments in elementary STEM instruction as initiated by the school or district. Cooperate with and participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the total school program. Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians. Maintain a working Inventory of all STEM consumable and nonconsumable equipment and materials. Follow district protocols to annually Inventory and acquire consumable and nonconsumable STEM equipment and materials.

Other Duties

Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required)

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher from an accredited college or university.
• Certification as required by the state of South Carolina in the field of early childhood, elementary or K12 academic teacher.
• Complete STEM Training Certification
• Other professional and personal qualifications as deemed necessary for acceptable fulfillment of assigned responsibilities.
