Job summary

Wonderful College Prep Academy seeks a Primary School SPED Instructional Assistant (Speech) to support teachers with 1:1 and small group instruction, assist with behavior and medical needs, and help deliver state standards aligned lessons.

The role includes campus supervision, family outreach, clerical tasks, and potential medication administration, with pay range of $20.80 - $28.20/hour and full benefits. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-aged children, including those with special needs.
• Ability to read, understand, and implement lessons based on state standards.
• Knowledge of assessments and progress monitoring; maintaining records.
• Familiarity with IEP documentation and Siras software.
• Familiarity with RTI, co-teaching, collaboration, and small group instruction.
• ABA training.
• Knowledge of de-escalation strategies (CPI preferred).
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Proficiency with teaching technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group instruction as needed.
• Support students' behavioral and medical needs.
• Assist with classroom learning and interventions.
• Lead classroom in the lead teacher's absence.
• Support campus supervision before, during, and after school.
• Communicate with families and attend key community events.
• Provide clerical support and translation/interpretation.
• Participate in professional development and planning sessions.
• Administer first aid or necessary physical assistance to ill or distressed students.
• May assist with toileting/diapering and medication administration.
