Job summary

Wonderful College Prep Academy in California is hiring a Primary School SPED Instructional Assistant. This full‑time role supports lead teachers with high expectations for students and encompasses 1:1 and small group instruction, behavioral and medical support, and compliance tasks.

The position involves supervision, collaboration, and ongoing professional development. Ideal candidates have experience with school‑aged students, familiarity with IEPs, and training in ABA or CPI; First Aid/CPR

Qualifications

• Experience with school‑aged children, especially with special needs.
• Ability to read, understand, and implement lessons based on state standards.
• Knowledge of assessments and progress monitoring; accurate record keeping.
• Familiarity with IEP documentation and Special Ed Reporting Software (Siras) preferred.
• Familiarity with RTI, co‑teaching, collaboration and small group instruction.
• ABA training.
• De‑escalation strategies (CPI certification preferred).
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Proficiency with teaching technologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Supports classroom learning with 1:1 or small group instruction.
• Assists with students' behavioral and medical needs and interventions.
• Supports campus supervision before, during, and after school and related duties.
• Translates/interprets; handles clerical tasks and compliance activities.
• Leads classroom in the absence of the lead teacher.
• Participates in professional development, staff meetings and planning.
• Administers first aid or necessary medical assistance.
• May assist with toileting and medication per District procedure.
