Birch Agency is recruiting a Special Education Resource Teacher for an elementary school in Eastpointe, Michigan. This is an immediate-start, full-time, in-person position serving K-2 or 3-5 resource rooms with a paraprofessional support team.

Caseloads are roughly 10-14 students per room, with mainstreaming for certain subjects. The role emphasizes collaboration with general education teachers, IEP development, and ongoing progress monitoring to promote student growth and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement.
• Experience with elementary-aged students preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct special education instruction in a resource room.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers for accommodations.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and document results.
• Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation and student records.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff.
• Use evidence-based instructional strategies to support learning.
