Job summary

Huron Valley Schools seeks an enthusiastic Elementary Resource Room Teacher to join Spring Mills Elementary on a 0.5 FTE basis. The right candidate will collaborate with special and general education staff to meet the academic, behavioral, and communication needs of students with IEPs.

The role requires delivering specialized instruction, logging progress, and developing IEPs with MDRs, while participating in meetings and Medicaid billing processes as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement in Learning Disabilities (SM), Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV), Cognitive Impairments (SA), Emotional Impairments (SE), or other special education area.
• Must meet the Highly Qualified standard under the ESSA or be recommended for a certificate or endorsement, signifying verification of completion of a teacher program.

Responsibilities

• Provide Specially Designed Instruction to students with an IEP.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with students, staff and families.
• Progress monitor all IEP goals and report data quarterly to families.
• Maintain service and accommodation logs for each caseload student.
• Lead and write IEPs and MDRs compliant with federal/state/district guidance.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support students in their LRE.
• Attend department and building meetings.
• Complete Medicaid billing monthly as required.
• Attend Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training after school.
