Job summary

Applicants may be asked to implement behavior plans designed by educational professionals and maintain confidentiality of student information, while providing reliable information to substitute teachers as needed.

Qualifications

• Assists the teacher in achieving educational objectives by working with individual students or small groups.
• Maintains a well-organized classroom environment.
• Implements behavior management programs designed by teachers and/or school psychologist.
• Counts and records specific student behaviors; administers procedures in the positive behavior support plan.
• Provides general maintenance of equipment including cleaning and disinfecting.
• Serves as a source of information and help to substitute teachers.
• Maintains confidentiality of information about students.
• Bilingual Eng/Esp preferred (but not required).

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in providing instruction to individual students or small groups.
• Prepare materials for class and locate supplementary materials.
• Monitor student use of instructional equipment.
• Uphold high standards of ethical behavior and student confidentiality.
