Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a Special Education Teacher to serve Elementary School students with IEPs in an alternative/learning center setting. Starting salary ranges between $60,000 and $80,000 per year, dependent on experience.

You will lead personalized instruction, develop lesson plans, and collaborate with staff to support diverse learning needs while upholding PBIS practices and state standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or related field.
• IL professional educator (PEL) credential in process or active.
• IL learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential in process or active.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs.
• Design dynamic and personalized learning experiences in learning centers or classrooms.
• Deliver targeted instruction using innovative curriculum resources and software.
• Create detailed lesson plans and schedules aligned with standards.
• Track progress, maintain files, and generate progress reports.
• Collaborate in co-teaching environments to meet IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction and guide staff on differentiation methods.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
