The Lubbock Independent School District seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide instructional experiences for students with special needs across Pre K - 12. You will develop or modify curricula, prepare lessons, and support students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

Responsibilities include collaborating with ARD committees, implementing individualized programs, and coordinating with classroom staff.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting/implementation
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• At least one-year student teaching or approved internship

Aufgaben

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs and document preparation.
• Plan and use strategies, materials, and equipment aligned to students' learning styles.
• Modify curricula and assist special education students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Present subject matter per IEP guidelines.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology in teaching/learning processes.
