Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks an Elementary & Secondary Principal to serve as instructional leader and chief administrator. You will implement the school vision, lead staff development, monitor student achievement, and ensure compliance with district and state guidelines.

You will communicate with parents and community partners, manage budget priorities, and guide curriculum and assessment decisions to promote equitable student success.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in administration, education leadership, or related field.
• Licenses/Certificates: School Administrators' License required. Proper endorsement is necessary before applying.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of certified teaching experience, education administration, or K-12 leadership.
• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership at school site level as an assistant principal or principal; and/or district-level AP leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develops and communicates the school's vision and aligns goals to improve student achievement.
• Advocates for the school and communicates with stakeholders; ensures compliance with laws and district policies.
• Builds strong relationships with students, staff, parents and community; models effective communication.
• Demonstrates knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and MTSS to guide instructional decisions.
• Leads budget planning, standard operating procedures, scheduling, and priority-based resource allocation.
