Job summary

Northshore School District 417 seeks an Elementary Assistant Principal to lead instructional improvement, equity, and staff supervision in a multi-school environment. You will work with the building principal to implement the district's strategic plan and oversee student programs, evaluations, and discipline with a focus on inclusive practices.

The role requires a Master’s degree and Washington State principal/teacher certificates, plus at least three years of elementary teaching leadership

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and valid Washington State principal and teacher certificates.
• A minimum of three years transferable experience as a successful elementary classroom teacher.
• Demonstrated successful leadership in a comparable position.
• Knowledge of standards for satisfactory professional performance and development for certificated staff.
• Skill in program development and evaluation, staff supervision and evaluation, fiscal management and staff development.
• Skill in planning and organizing.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and community in all aspects of school life.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with parents, staff, and community concerning the school programs, system rules, and procedures, including student management issues and discipline.
• Nurtures a positive school environment that celebrates diversity and values equity.
• Provides oversight for the required state assessments.
• Designs and implements structures for effective and efficient operations including safety and behavior management.
• Supervises events and oversees student activities.
• Directs, supervises, and evaluates assigned personnel.
• Assists in implementing curriculum, program, and professional development.
• Assists in the analysis of research and assessment data to improve student achievement.
