Job summary

Salem Public Schools is seeking five Elementary Science Materials Point Persons (Read Trust) from each elementary school to support Amplify Science materials for SY 2026-2027. This one-year, internal-candidates-only position is supervised by the Executive Director of Academics and pays $1,000 for the year.

Responsibilities include locating and verifying required materials, attending after‑school meetings, coordinating spring ordering, and creating a shopping list based on inventory.

Qualifications

• Must be a current educator in Salem Public Schools.
• Familiarity with Amplify Science materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Locate and verify materials for Amplify Science investigations and track organizational needs.
• Attend one 1-hour after-school meeting to review expectations of the materials consultant position.
• Communicate with the community about procedures for obtaining science materials and organize purchases as needed.
• Attend additional after-school meetings to prepare spring ordering and review spending and processes.
• Create a shopping list for the 26-27 school year based on current inventory.
