Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree is required.
• Master's degree in related content area is preferred.
• NYS Teaching Certification is preferred.
• Experience in classroom teaching is preferred.
• Evidence of strong communication, problem-solving, and human relations skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators from a diverse community.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for students in the absence of their classroom teacher.
• Assist the classroom teacher to promote maximum student intellectual and physical development.
• Assist the teacher during instructional time to facilitate student learning.
• Communicate frequently with learners regarding their academic and social learning.
• Provide assistance for instructional services to guide and direct student academic and social development.
• Assist in monitoring student progress.
• Communicate with the classroom teacher regarding students' development.
• Participate in staff and department meetings as assigned.
• Engage in professional development opportunities as assigned.
