Job summary

Brilla Public Charter Schools in the Bronx is seeking an Elementary School Assistant Principal of Student Services to lead campus-based support for diverse learners, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and coordinate a Student Services team including Learning Specialists, Social Workers, and Speech-Language Pathologists.

This role partners with the Principal and Elementary Director of Student Services to drive MTSS implementation, data-driven interventions, and targeted

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Current Special Education, ESL, or ELL teaching certification is required.
• 3+ years of urban elementary/middle teaching experience with demonstrated student results.
• Administrative certification and 3+ years of leadership experience (preferred).
• Spanish language proficiency (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Direct and facilitate campus-based support of diverse learners, ensuring compliance and effective Tier 2/3 practices.
• Lead the Student Services Team, including Learning Specialists, Social Workers, SLPs, and related providers.
• Support principal with interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new staff.
• Coordinate twice-yearly performance evaluation discussions and monitor staff accountability.
• Oversee IEPs, 504 plans, and compliance with NYSED/DOE regulations.
• Lead and participate in family engagement and school culture initiatives.
