Job summary

Columbus City Schools seeks an experienced building principal to lead an assigned elementary school. Under administrative supervision, you will direct daily operations, guide curriculum implementation, and ensure instructional goals align with the district mission.

You will manage staff recruitment and development, oversee budgets and records, maintain safety protocols, and foster strong school-community relations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, administration or a related field.
• State of Ohio Principal license (Grades PK-6) required at appointment.
• Strong budget management, staff development, and curriculum leadership demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Directs the day-to-day activities of building staff, including hiring, training, counseling, evaluating, and disciplining staff as needed.
• Prepares and administers building budgets; oversees procurement of books, supplies, and equipment within approved budgets.
• Keeps current with best practices in elementary curriculum and instructional strategies; recommends changes as needed.
• Maintains credentials and provides ongoing professional development opportunities aligned with district objectives.
• Maintains personnel, student, and fiscal records; ensures confidentiality and reporting requirements.
