Job summary

Nutrition Services Inc. in Hillsboro, Oregon is seeking a part-time Cook 2 to manage daily kitchen operations at Free Orchards Elementary. The role runs 10-month calendar with 6:15am-1:30pm shifts, supporting internal applicants only.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, inventory tracking, and maintaining cleanliness, with a strong emphasis on food safety and coordination of kitchen activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in oral and written English.
• Proficient in computer and Internet-based applications (email and systems).
• Hold a valid Food Handlers certification.
• One year of experience in food service.
• Experience with commercial kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Experience coordinating kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of ingredients, supplies and cooking methods.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety regulations for chemicals in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of an elementary kitchen.
• Prepare and serve food items.
