Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Education; Master’s preferred.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification is required.
• Experience with elementary students, especially in tutoring or support roles.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
• Strong communication with students, parents and colleagues.
• Skilled in assessing student performance and adapting teaching methods.
• Proficiency with educational technology to enhance learning.
• Commitment to inclusive and equitable education for all.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement personalized instructional plans for students in the tutorial room.
• Conduct assessments to identify strengths and areas for improvement, adjusting strategies.
• Provide targeted support in reading, writing and mathematics to reach grade-level goals.
• Create a welcoming classroom that encourages participation and confidence.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align tutorial instruction with the curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with families.
• Participate in professional development to improve instructional practices.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives to boost student achievement.
• Foster a culture of respect, responsibility and resilience among students.
