JPS Hunt Elementary is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to join the team full-time. The role supports classroom teachers, assists with materials, and helps create a positive learning environment for students.

Responsibilities include one-on-one and small group support, progress monitoring, and collaboration with teachers on lesson plans. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to help every student succeed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from the classroom teacher.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
• Ability to adapt to various learning styles and needs of students.
• Background check and clearance to work with children required.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in preparing instructional materials and resources.
• Support students with their learning activities, providing one-on-one or small group assistance as needed.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, ensuring a safe and productive classroom environment.
• Help maintain an organized and clean classroom, including setting up and taking down learning materials.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and educational activities.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student success.
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as grading assignments and maintaining student records.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and participation.
