Job summary

West Hartford Public Schools seeks a full-time registered behavior technician at Whiting Lane Elementary School. You will implement behavior plans, collect data, and support students with social-emotional-behavioral needs in collaboration with pupil services staff.

The role requires completing a 40-hour online training, passing the RBT Competency Assessment, and obtaining ongoing recertification. Strong communication with teachers and adherence to the RBT Ethics Code are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of required training including 40-hour online course
• Passing score on the RBT Competency Assessment
• Initial RBT examination and annual recertification process
• Current certification or ability to obtain Physical Management Training
• Applicant must be at least 18 years old and pass background checks

Responsibilities

• Implement student Behavior Intervention Plans
• Maintain and report student records
• Communicate with classroom teachers regarding student progress
• Perform Physical Management in emergencies
• Adhere to RBT Ethics Code
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
