Job summary

Tallwood Elementary School is seeking a Substitute - Teacher Assistant to support the physical education program. Responsibilities include assisting the PE teacher, reinforcing material, and managing classroom behavior.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of physical education practices and techniques.
• Ability to maintain confidential files and information; compile reports.
• Ability to deal effectively with students and teachers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physical education teacher with instructional activities.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
• Create a learning-conducive environment for students.
• Escort and assist children as necessary.
• Maintain individual student records.
• Protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Set up equipment for class.
• Follow policies governing student life and conduct.
• Perform office tasks such as photocopying and filing.
• Monitor students to keep them on task.
