E. Ethel Little Elementary School in North Reading, Massachusetts is seeking a long-term substitute General Paraprofessional for the 2026 fall term, tentatively from September 8, 2026 through November 20, 2026.

This 0.8 FTE role supports students and teachers across grades Pre-K–5. Responsibilities include assisting with instructional activities, behavior support, materials prep, and school-wide supervision.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve independently.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teachers in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Provide assistance to students in instructional activities.
• Implement physical assistance to students as required.
• Facilitate establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior.
• Support teacher with preparation of instructional materials.
• Collaborate on school-based supervision of arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, bus duty, and/or classrooms.
• Cover general office duties as needed.
• Provide assistance to the principal and staff in the daily management of the school.
• Substitute at all grade levels as requested.
• Assume other duties/responsibilities as designated by the Principal, Teacher, and/or Designee.
