Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One of: associate degree, or 48 college hours, or ParaPro eligibility.
• Successful completion of STAR substitute training within one year of hire.
• Proficiency with basic computer and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Provide supervision of students after STAR training.
• Assist the teacher in delivering instruction as requested.
• Use computer software to document and report on the program.
• Assess student performance and report objective evaluations.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information in line with FRPA.
• Assist in demonstrating math, grammar, and reading skills.
• Assist in managing student behavior to maintain a learning environment.
• Support in positioning and physical management of students as directed.
• Follow school board rules, state laws, and governing policies.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring for eligible students when assigned.
