Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Florida is seeking an Exceptional Student Education paraprofessional to support students with cognitive disabilities under teacher guidance. The role requires at least 30 college hours or a high school diploma, with preference for those pursuing Special Education paraprofessional certification.

Responsibilities include assisting in educational and social development, supporting IEP implementation, and coordinating with related services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate degree or 30 college hours preferred.
• Experience with children with cognitive or pervasive developmental disabilities preferred.
• Willingness to pursue Special Education Paraprofessional Certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the guidance of teachers.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans and monitor progress.
• Provide support for individual students to participate in activities.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, social workers, and occupational/physical therapists.
• Maintain student records with teachers.
