Job summary

The Muscogee County School District seeks an Instructional Specialist for Elementary Mathematics to lead district-wide mathematics curriculum and instruction. You will design and deliver high-quality PD for teachers and instructional coaches, analyze student performance data, and guide the adoption of HQIM aligned with Georgia standards, including responsible AI integration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mathematics Education, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate or Service Certificate at Level 5 or higher; Education Specialist degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience with strong Mathematics instruction; minimum of two (2) years in instructional coaching or district-level curriculum roles.
• Experience designing and delivering professional learning for adult learners in content and instructional delivery.
• Experience with assessment administration, data analysis, MTSS and evidence-based literacy interventions, and managing instructional programs, materials, and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as district subject-matter expert in content area and grade band to provide instructional leadership and technical assistance.
• Lead curriculum and instruction development, review, and alignment with standards and district expectations.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate district-wide professional development on content-specific frameworks, resources, and assessment.
• Develop and maintain district-wide content-specific assessments and universal screeners; monitor and report progress.
• Coordinate district-wide academic competitions and events; engage families and community stakeholders.
• Vet and support responsible integration of AI tools in education, protecting privacy and integrity.
• Monitor compliance with mandates and standards; ensure instructional integrity.
