Job summary

Yamhill Carlton School District in Oregon seeks an Elementary School Instructional Assistant - Life Skills to support certified staff in classrooms and to help students meet instructional goals. You will work with students individually and in small groups, reinforce skills, and assist with classroom management and materials.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with experience with special needs desirable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with special needs children desirable.
• Ability to work with a diverse group and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction and reinforce learning goals.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Prepare materials and support instructional activities according to student needs.
• Maintain records of student learning and progress.
• Supervise non-instructional activities and field trips as needed.
• Assist with parent contact to support involvement in education.
