Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have DPI Spec. Ed. Program Aide certification or be willing to become certified.

• Be knowledgeable and physically capable of lifting/restraining students weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to use computer equipment and other assistive technology devices.

Responsibilities

• Support special education teachers in instructional activities and supervision of students in structured/unstructured settings.
• Assist with behavior management strategies.
• Assist with self-help skills and health care procedures.
• Work with wheelchair or ambulatory students in small groups or individually.
• May lift or restrain students up to 80 pounds.
• Other duties as assigned by the administrator or classroom teacher.
