Job summary

La Center School District is seeking a Paraeducator I to support students at La Center Elementary School. Under the supervision of the building principal, you will provide academic and supervisory support in classrooms, the playground, and cafeteria, following the SEIU contract.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and may require an Associate’s degree or paraeducator assessment. Working hours are 7:40 a.m.–2:20 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch and 189 days per school year.

Qualifications

• Provides instructional support under certificated staff supervision.
• Strong communication with staff, students, families, and community.
• Ability to work in various school settings including classroom, playground, and cafeteria.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services to students under certificated staff direction.
• Conduct student observation and assessment; give feedback to teachers.
• Lead small group lessons to support identified academic areas.
• Deliver 1:1 or small group instruction to meet learning goals.
• Monitor student behavior and safety across classrooms and common areas.
• Attend trainings to enhance skills for remedial student support.
• Maintain accurate data collection and contribute to progress reports.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and participate in staff meetings.
