Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs. The position supports health care tasks and daily living skills, and helps with classroom prep and material handling.

Supervision may occur in libraries, classrooms, playgrounds, or during bus routines. Requirements include at least 18 years old and a high school diploma or equivalent; an AA or 72 college credits, or

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• AA or higher OR two years of college credit (72 quarter hours) or approved paraprofessional scores.
• Official documentation required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction.
• Support students with health care needs and daily living/behavioral skills.
• Assist with classroom preparation, equipment storage, and materials retrieval.
• Supervise students in library, classrooms, playgrounds or during bus loading/unloading.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate degree or 72 college credits OR ParaPro/Pearson scores

ParaPro Assessment 455+ OR Pearson Paraprofessional 220+
