Job summary

La Center School District is seeking a Paraeducator II to support a student 1:1 in the Structured Learning Center at La Center Elementary School. The successful candidate will provide academic, social, physical, and behavioral support to a student who requires individualized attention and safety oversight.

Under the supervision of the building principal, duties include adapting activities, implementing IEP goals, monitoring progress, and collaborating with staff to create a supportive learning

Qualifications

• Proof of high school graduation or equivalent and at least one option met.
• Willingness to complete professional development for Paraeducator certification.
• Willingness to complete CPR/First Aid training as required.
• Background check must be satisfactory.
• Basic skills assessment may be required prior to offer.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and materials for students in Special Education to participate.
• Provide instructional services to implement IEP goals.
• Monitor and document student progress and behaviors.
• Attend to physical needs and ensure safety of students.
• Provide 1:1 support or small group instruction as needed.
• Implement behavioral plans and IEP objectives.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff on student progress.
• Maintain accurate data and complete reports.
