Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Physically capable of performing assigned tasks.
• Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
• Supervisory skills.
• Capable of lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Knowledge of custodial procedures and equipment.
• Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Is responsible for routine adjustments, servicing and programmed maintenance of heating, ventilating, lighting, and other building equipment.
• Maintains and services heating/air conditioning systems and related equipment; performs minor tests and adjustments for efficiency.
• Assigns, supervises, and inspects custodial staff activities (mopping, scrubbing, waxing, moving furniture, cleaning) and participates as needed.
• Performs custodial activities as necessary.
• Makes minor plumbing/electrical/painting tasks and reports major repairs; may assist maintenance personnel.
• Receives furniture orders and supervises assembly; orders custodial supplies and monitors usage.
• Keeps time records for staff and maintains daily system logs to ensure proper operation of HVAC and emergency lighting.
