Job summary

Vallivue School District in Caldwell, Idaho, is seeking a dedicated Custodian at Vallivue High School to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for students and staff.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, experience in plant operation and maintenance, and the ability to perform physically demanding cleaning duties and minor repairs. You will work under supervision with the Custodian Supervisor and Night Shift Head Custodian.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in plant operation and maintenance as determined by the Board in cleaning, repairs, and safety.
• Familiar with MSDS and asbestos abatement documents.
• Ability to perform lengthy standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 90 pounds, and use of cleaning equipment.
• Willingness to perform general cleaning and minor repairs; self-motivated.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; maintain confidentiality with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities and ready them for use; open/close building and secure doors/windows.
• Maintain HVAC operation for appropriate temperatures and efficiency.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and report major issues promptly to supervisor.
• Move and arrange furniture as needed and clean classrooms, offices, library, and common areas.
• Clean and sanitize fixtures, bathrooms, cafeteria, and windows; replenish supplies.
• Maintain grounds: clean sidewalks, driveways, and play areas; perform seasonal tasks.
