Qualifications

• Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
• Appropriate content/ program area educator license (ESL) and grade level PreK-6 licensure from the Massachusetts DESE.
• Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate license; or Master’s Degree with appropriate license preferred within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study to meet individual needs, interests and abilities.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning for students.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives.
• Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Assesses student progress, provides reports, and communicates with parents as needed.
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Participates in professional growth and teacher evaluation processes.
