Job summary

Springfield Public Schools in Western Massachusetts is seeking a qualified teacher to meet and instruct assigned classes, plan individualized study, and create an engaging classroom environment that supports district goals and student growth.

The role requires elementary licensure (1-6) from the MA DESE, a bachelor’s degree with the appropriate license, and preferably a master’s degree with the content license within five years.

Qualifications

• Requires content area competency and an appropriate educator license (Elementary, grade 1-6) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Bachelor’s degree with an appropriate license is required; a Master’s degree with the content area license is preferred and expected within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear lesson objectives to students.
