Job summary

Qualifications

• Massachusetts certification as an ESL teacher (K-5) is required.
• SEI endorsement is required.
• Knowledge of MA Core-Content Frameworks and WIDA 2020 ELD Standards.
• Experience co-teaching in SEI classrooms with SCI core-academic teachers.
• Experience with SLIFE/ELSWD is desirable.
• Strong computer/technology skills and ability to use various software/apps.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL to English Learners in a self-contained ESL classroom and/or with SCI classrooms.
• Co-plan, coteach, co-assess, and co-reflect with SCI teachers.
• Deliver explicit ESL instruction across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Develop and refine in-district ESL curriculum maps aligned to MA frameworks and WIDA 2020.
• Administer and grade department assessments and monitor student growth.
• Maintain parent communication and inform progress to families.
• Collaborate with SPED as applicable for EL/IEP accommodations and modifications.
• Collaborate with department and team members.
