Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School in Worcester, Massachusetts is seeking an ES Special Education Teacher for the Elementary School to develop and implement IEPs, provide specialized instruction, and collaborate with general education staff to meet students’ goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Special Education, DESE certification or MTEL eligibility, SEI endorsement, and strong communication in a collaborative, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• DESE certification or MTEL eligibility.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.
• SEI Endorsement is required.
• Master degree preferred (not mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in IEP meetings.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide specialized instruction, accommodations, and modifications in various settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to align instructional strategies with IEP goals.
• Assess student progress and adjust methods to meet goals.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress towards IEP goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings with parents and school team.
• Provide consultation to educators regarding accommodations and teaching strategies.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Adhere to confidentiality standards and district policies.
• Engage in professional development and growth activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Principal or Special Education Director.
