Job summary

Bay Path University is seeking a Practicum Supervisor to mentor teacher candidates through the pre‑practicum and practicum experiences in Massachusetts. The role conducts eight in‑person observations and provides high‑quality feedback to help candidates reach proficient CAP elements.

Responsibilities include coordinating CAP, facilitating three‑way meetings, and collaborating with sponsoring practitioners to ensure appropriate supports.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Massachusetts Educator Professional License in one or more special education fields.
• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
• Familiarity with the Massachusetts Educator Evaluation System.
• Minimum of 5 years of special education teaching or administration experience.
• Available during PreK-12 school hours for in-person observations and three‑way meetings.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion per FERPA and HIPAA.
• Complete required FERPA, Anti‑Harassment, and other trainings within 15 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the CAP process to improve candidate practice and readiness for licensure.
• Provide robust and equitable guidance and high‑quality feedback to candidates.
• Collaborate with supervising practitioner to collect and analyze evidence across sources.
• Facilitate three‑way meetings with supervising practitioner and candidate.
• Conduct eight in‑person observations (minimum) and provide mentoring to candidates.
• Calibrate candidate readiness with the supervising practitioner using multiple evidence sources.
• Complete and submit all required CAP forms.
• Attend bi‑weekly virtual seminar meetings with teacher candidates.
