Job description

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content and achieving learning objectives.
• Prepare course materials and lesson plans that align with the syllabus.
• Grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback.
• Address student questions and provide academic support as needed.
• Ensure instruction follows the regular course syllabus and departmental course coordination policies.
• Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction and peer observation policies.
• Demonstrate adaptability in learning and applying new modes of instruction.
• Show sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree for undergraduate teaching, or Doctorate for graduate teaching, in Curriculum and Instruction or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching in the K‑6 setting.

Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per credit‑hour basis for specific classes, typically on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for the University’s benefit program and are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary

Pay is determined by the number of credit hours assigned at a rate of $1,264 – $1,482 per credit hour, in accordance with university policy.
