Part‑time Affiliate Faculty, teaching positions in the Department of Elementary Education & Literacy at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students.
• Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
• Grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback.
• Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
• Provide online or in‑person academic support as needed.
• Provide instruction consistent with the content and learning objectives of the course syllabus and, if required, department course coordination policies.
• Comply with university‑wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.

Adaptation to new modes of instruction is encouraged, and sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population is required.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree for undergraduate teaching; doctorate for graduate program teaching, in Literacy or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching literacy in the K‑6 setting.

Terms of Employment

• Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per‑credit‑hour basis for specific classes, usually semester‑by‑semester.
• Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program.
• All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.
• Qualified candidates are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary and Benefits

Salary per credit‑hour assignment ranges from $1,264 to $1,482. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental coverage, RTD pass, tuition reimbursement, life and supplemental insurance, retirement plans, and long‑term disability coverage.
