Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking affiliate faculty to teach hospitality and related courses. The position involves delivering in-person or online instruction, developing course materials, creating lesson plans, grading, and providing timely feedback to students.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate program: Master’s degree in the field of instruction or a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality-related discipline plus substantial current professional experience (≥10 consecutive years of increasing responsibility and supervision) directly related to the teaching field.
• Graduate program: Ph.D. in the field of instruction or a Master’s degree in a hospitality-related discipline plus substantial current professional experience (≥10 consecutive years of increasing responsibility and supervision) directly related to the teaching field.
• Nationally recognized certificates or licenses relevant to the teaching field.

• Comply with university, college/school, and department policies on student evaluation, peer observation, and course coordination.

Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, generally on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Candidates are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire. Faculty are not eligible for the University’s benefit program. All assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.

Salary

Pay per credit hour ranges from $1,209 to $1,482, determined by university policy and the number of credit hours assigned.
