Job summary

Somerset Academy Lakes is seeking an Elementary School Counselor to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students in grades K–5. The role includes individual and small group counseling, collaboration with teachers and families, and helping to foster a positive and inclusive school culture.

The ideal candidate will have experience with elementary-aged children and a strong understanding of child development, behavior, and social-emotional learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in School Counseling or in progress preferred.
• Florida certification in School Counseling or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience with elementary students (K–5).
• Strong understanding of child development, behavior, and SEL.
• Experience providing individual and small group counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group counseling to K–5 students.
• Support students through challenges and promote social-emotional development.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families.
• Help create a positive, inclusive school culture and safe environment.
