Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Certified by the State of Alabama in the appropriate area.
• Must meet No Child Left Behind Act regulations/requirements.
• Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills with emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups.
• Ability to develop and implement curriculum and programming for designated grade level(s)/subject(s).
• Physical strength, mobility and stamina to perform job responsibilities.
• Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and regulations.
• Alternative qualifications may be required by the Board.

• Supervises student teachers, volunteers, and paraprofessionals as assigned.
• Uses ongoing assessment to monitor progress and inform planning.
• Encourages student self-assessment and improvement plans.
• Communicates progress to students, parents, and colleagues clearly.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding student and school matters.
• Participates in state and standardized testing processes.
