Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama teaching certificate in the grade level/subject area.
• Must meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system and its goals.
• Demonstrates knowledge of child development and curriculum.
• Utilizes technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate learning.
• Maintains safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Instructs and supervises student teachers and paraprofessionals as assigned.
• Uses assessment data to inform instruction and program planning.
• Communicates progress to students, parents and colleagues.
