Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a part-time LifeWise Teacher to share the gospel in public school classrooms, combining Bible knowledge with effective teaching. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with strong communication and interpersonal skills who is caring and perceptive.

Responsibilities include completing training and certification, teaching LifeWise classes, maintaining records, and fostering a respectful, redemptive classroom.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (with students) in either a school or church setting
• Mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Complete LifeWise Teacher Certification Course within 30 days of the start date and prior to teaching in the LifeWise classroom
• Teach LifeWise Classes using the LifeWise curriculum and map out curriculum customization
• Invest in connecting with students through building relationships and praying for them regularly
• Cultivate an organized, encouraging and engaging classroom environment with redemptive discipline
• Apply LifeWise policies, procedures and resources
• Maintain attendance in each class and provide records to the program director or school officials
• Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns and photo permissions as noted on parent slips
• Prepare information and materials for substitutes as needed
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
• Communicate as LifeWise ambassador within the community and with school personnel
• Attend annual school open houses and outreach events
• Promote LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions
