Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District is seeking an A08 Instructional Aide – Mathematics/Science to assist in delivering instruction at the secondary level. You will work under a teacher's supervision to support mastery in math and science, using developmental and remedial methods, and to help maintain student records and instructional materials.

The role emphasizes collaboration with certificated staff, classroom management, and effective communication in a diverse school setting.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with teaching methods, instructional media, test scoring, school organization, and school rules and regulations.
• Education requirements include an associate degree or higher or 48 college units plus a high school diploma; CBEST/alternative path allowed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials.
• Supervise or tutor individuals or small groups in math and science.
• Explain subject matter, administer tests, review and correct assignments.
• Maintain pupil profiles and portfolios; keep relevant records.
• Operate instructional equipment and supplies, including audiovisual and lab equipment.
• Maintain classroom discipline and support positive learning environment.
• Assist in monitoring various school areas and safety.
• Support staff with program publicity and related duties.
