Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking an Elementary Teacher – Mainstream/ESL to join our team and support student growth. You will plan and deliver lessons aligned with the district curriculum, assess progress, collaborate with special education staff, supervise aides/volunteers, and use technology to enhance learning.

Strong classroom management and communication with families are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or out-of-state certificate; ESL Certification required within the first year if not obtained.
• Content exam and Science of Teaching Reading exam requirements met, if applicable.
• Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position per law.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the district's philosophy of instruction; develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program and provide written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons that accommodate differences in student learning styles; present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and policies.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and modify curricula for special education students with IEP collaboration.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers; use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned and be a positive role model for students.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior per the Student Code of Conduct.
• Establish open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers; present information clearly.
• Participate in staff development; maintain records and attend meetings; serve on committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
