Job summary

The Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) in New York City is seeking Group Leaders for the DYCD/COMPASS after-school program. You will help create safe, engaging, and structured learning environments for elementary-aged children, guiding academics, recreation, and social-emotional development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience with elementary-aged children in structured settings.
• Strong classroom management and behavioral guidance skills.
• Willingness to participate in trainings and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to Common Core standards for academic, recreational, and social-emotional learning.
• Facilitate daily activities in core subjects and enrichment areas.
• Maintain active supervision to ensure a safe, inclusive environment; address behavior concerns as needed.
• Document attendance, behavior incidents, and observations per CPC policies.
• Collaborate with peers, site supervisors, school staff, and CPC leadership.
• Attend trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
