Job summary

Wilmington Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute to serve as a School Adjustment Counselor. The role focuses on counseling students in grades 1–3, delivering universal SEL supports, and coordinating with school teams for transitions and PBIS implementation.

Requirements include a Master’s degree and MA DESE licensure, with 2+ years of relevant experience preferred; citizenship or work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above in Social Work, School Psychology, or related field.
• Massachusetts DESE licensure as School Counselor, School Adjustment Counselor, or Social Worker.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling and social skills groups for grades 1–3.
• Design and deliver universal tiered supports and interventions.
• Case management for assigned caseload.
• Collaborate with school personnel on SEL and mental health issues; provide classroom-based SEL lessons.
• Provide IEP services and participate in IEP/504 meetings; co-chair 504 processes.
