Advantest America Inc. is seeking an Electronics Test Technician / Test Equipment Operator in San Jose, CA. The role tests electronic assemblies, operates automated and manual test equipment, and ensures quality and compliance across product lines.

You will follow procedures, record results, troubleshoot defects, and support engineering validation as part of a fast-paced manufacturing team. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of electronics testing, manufacturing, repair, or technician experience.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and test procedures.
• Basic understanding of electronic circuits and electrical measurements.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, functional, and operational testing of electronic assemblies, modules, and finished products.
• Operate automated test stations, production test systems, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Follow test procedures, work instructions, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
• Verify product performance against established acceptance criteria.
• Record test results accurately within MES, databases, or quality tracking systems.
• Troubleshoot and identify failed components, assemblies, or system-level defects.
• Escalate complex failures to Engineering, Quality, or Repair teams as required.
• Perform equipment setup, calibration verification, and basic preventive maintenance.
• Support engineering validation testing and NPI activities.
• Review test logs and identify recurring failures or process issues.
• Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and quality procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Operate: Automated Test Equipment (ATE), Digital Multimeters, Power Supplies, Data Acquisition Systems, Network and Communication Test Instruments, Custom Manufacturing Test Stations.
