Microchip Technology is seeking a skilled electronics technician to troubleshoot and test electronic systems, solder PCB components, and perform routine and detailed testing. You will update software/firmware, write test procedures, and collaborate across repairs and projects in a fast-paced environment.
The role requires an Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field with 3 years of PCB testing experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
This position reports to the Module Assembly and Test Department and is responsible for troubleshooting electronic systems, performing soldering of printed circuit board components, conducting routine engineering tests and detailed experimental testing, updating software and firmware, and writing and updating test procedures.
The position is primarily stationary, requiring sitting or standing most of the workday. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to periodically crouch, stoop, bend, or reach across all planes. Employees must frequently lift or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift or move material weighing up to 60 lbs, 0–33% of the time. May be exposed to high noise levels for short durations; noise levels average around 70 decibels and intermittently reach 85 decibels when working near large machinery (hearing protection required).
