Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Electronics Test Engineer (Level 4) to join the Core Systems and Components group. You will design, develop, and execute test strategies for electronic systems, working with Electrical Design and Embedded Systems to ensure hardware meets performance and mission readiness.

Responsibilities include test plan development, automation, anomaly resolution, and participation in TRRs, with a focus on rigorous verification and compliance across aerospace-grade

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or extensive relevant work experience in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in electronics test engineering, manufacturing, or assembly.
  • Experience developing and executing comprehensive test plans, procedures, and reports for electronic hardware and systems.
  • Familiarity with verification and validation (V&V) methodologies and requirements traceability.
  • Experience with qualification, acceptance, and proto-qualification test campaigns.
  • Experience with DOORS, Jama, or similar tools.

About the Role

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Electronics Test Engineer (Level 4) to join the Core Systems and Components group. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing, executing, and maintaining test strategies for electronic systems and components. You will work closely with our Electrical Design and Embedded Systems teams to ensure hardware meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and mission readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, procedures, and test reports for electronic hardware and systems
  • Collaborate closely with Electrical Design and Embedded Systems teams throughout the hardware development lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain automated and manual test equipment and test setups
  • Identify, document, and drive resolution of hardware anomalies and failures
  • Support design reviews, including participation in test readiness reviews (TRRs)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with program requirements and applicable standards
Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or extensive relevant work experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in electronics test engineering, manufacturing, or assembly
  • Experience developing and executing comprehensive test plans, test procedures, and test reports for electronic hardware and systems
  • Demonstrated experience with verification and validation (V&V) methodologies and requirements traceability
  • Familiarity with qualification, acceptance, and proto-qualification test campaigns
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar
  • Experience performing environmental testing including thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and data acquisition systems
  • Proficiency with test automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Preferred
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience supporting COMSEC or communications systems hardware
  • Familiarity with embedded systems development and integration
  • Experience with configuration management tools and processes (e.g., Git, SVN, or similar)
  • Experience developing test documentation in accordance with industry standards such as MIL-STD-461, NASA GEVS, DO-160, or similar
  • Experience conducting Design Verification Tests and Production Acceptance Tests
  • Knowledge of IPC standards for electronic assemblies and workmanship
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical industries
Base Pay Range

Base Pay Range for: CO applicants is $144,179.00 - $201,849.90 WA applicants is $156,802.00 - $219,522.45 Other site ranges may differ
